Apostille

The word Apostille is French, simply meaning certification. An Apostille is then the term used for a special kind of certificate, which is provided by the Secretary of State. The Apostille is provided alongside the initial article used to confirm its authenticity, meaning that it can be verified by other governmental bodies or businesses.

What is known as The Apostille Convention supplies a basic certification of public articles which are utilized within nations which are members of the Hague Convention of 1961. Apostilles will then be used to authenticate signatures by officials or seals provided by a public authority.
